Global-i is a national youth newsbeat on global affairs – on the U.S. role in the world and the world’s growing presence in the U.S. This national youth voice is a collaboration between YO! and four of the country’s most respected youth publications, New York-based New Youth Connections, Southern California-based LA Youth, VOX Youth Communications in Atlanta GA and Gumbo Magazine based in Milwakee WI. Whether multi or bi national, bi-lingual, bicultural, urban youth are America’s new globalists. And Global-i is their voice.

I was surprised to find that in the mostly Catholic society of my homeland, gay culture is tolerated more than in America. From nightlife to the media, baklas (Tagalog for "gay") are the norm. But the strangest part of the entire experience was realizing that although I’m a gay male, as an American, I was uncomfortable with such tolerance.
