An NFL Week in Review

It was an exciting week in the NFL. There were a few nail bitters, a few upsets and a few teams doing what they do best and that’s win games. If you’re into football than you know the race for the division leader to make the playoffs in the AFC South are up for grabs this year. It is usually dominated by the Indianapolis Colts (6-6) who are struggling this year. Recent MVP, Payton Manning, has been playing poor the last three games giving up 11 interceptions and a passer rating just under 70 allowing other teams to stake their claim in this race to win the AFC South division. The Jacksonville Jaguars are 7-5 and both the Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans respectively stand at 5-7. We also have other news around the league and all the scores from week 13.
The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Houston Texans 34-24. The Minnesota Vikings beat the Buffalo Bills 38-14. The Cleveland Browns beat the Miami Dolphins 13-10. The Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Tennessee Titans 17-6. The New York Giants beat the Washington Redskins 31-7. The Green Bay Packers beat the San Francisco 49ers 34-16. Defending champions New Orleans Saints barely got by the struggling Cincinnati Bengals 34-30. Chicago Bears over the Detroit Lions 24-20. Kansas City Chiefs over the Denver Broncos 10-6. And in another AFC West showdown the Oakland Raiders ran over the San Diego Chargers 28-13. The Atlanta Falcons beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 28-24, while the St. Louis Rams ran over the Arizona Cardinals 19-6. New coach Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks win over the Carolina Panthers. Dallas Cowboys win in overtime against the Indianapolis Colts 38-35. In an AFC showdown between the Pittsburg Steelers and Baltimore Ravens the Steelers win a tight defensive game 13-10. And last but not least an AFC east well expected game between the New England Patriots and New York Jets turned out to be a lopsided game when the Patriots just destroyed the Jets 45-3.
There were a few stand-out players in week 13. New England’s quarterback Tom Brady threw for 326 yards on 21-29 completions, 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Jaguars Maurice Jones-Drew ran for an outstanding 186 yards on 31 attempts. Also wide receiver Reggie Wayne for the Indianapolis Colts caught a whopping 14 receptions for a total of 200 yards.
News around the league- Head coach Josh McDaniel’s has been fired and running backs coach Eric Studesville has been named as interim head coach. Also around the league former pro-bowler Albert Haynesworth was suspended for four games without pay after teammates call him out for appearing to have a hangover at practice, this coming from their $100 million dollar man. Sports analysts are wondering if he even likes playing football or likes the benefits from playing the sacred sport. That’s it for week 13 catch me week.
